Carousel gumball machines are famous for their bright colors and quality of workmanship, with metal bases and glass or plastic globes. There are a variety of designs of Carousel machines available. Metal gumball machines are durable and will last for a very long time. When I think of metal gumball machines, the vintage ones of my childhood immediately come to mind. The machines were built to be sturdy and for the price of a penny back then, you would get a small gumball. One type that immediately comes to mind is the trademarked Carousel line of metal gumball machines, which were built with a sturdy metal base. Many commercial machines today are still made of metal and some non-coin operated gumball machines are as well.
